Frequently Asked Questions

What area do you provide services to?

Our HOMESTYLE BOARDING is based in Livingston Manor, however, we also provide pet care service calls to the surrounding area. Our regular service area extends to an 8 mile radius from our business address. We cover an “extended service area” for a per additional mile rate. Please view individual service pages for details and pricing.

What are your hours of operation?

Our standard operating hours are Monday-Friday 8am-6pm. Overnights, weekends, after-hours, and holiday services are also offered based upon availability.

How can I book your services?

We use an app called Time to Pet to manage all of our bookings. Please use our CONTACT page to begin a service inquiry and we will walk you through our on-boarding process from there.

Will you meet my dog or cat before I book your services?

Dog Walks, Cat Visits, & Overnights: Before we finalize any booking, we will schedule a visit to your home to conduct a "Meet and Greet" with you and your pet to make sure we are the right match. We have an intake form that will cover everything from your dog or cat's medical history and emergency contacts to his or her favorite toys and treats to ensure that we provide the best care possible.

Boarding: Before we can host any dog, clients must first submit a SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE. This will allow us to determine if our boarding service is the right fit for your pup. We are then happy to host a “Meet and Greet” at our home where we can go through our intake forms together and introduce your dog to our family of furry friends.

What precautions are you taking with COVID-19?

To ensure the safety of our community, we take COVID very seriously. Our daily precautions include:

  • frequent hand washing

  • wearing a face mask and strictly adhering to social distancing guidelines whenever appropriate

  • following and keeping up-to-date with CDC guidelines and NYS business restrictions

Will I need to have keys ready for the Meet and Greet?

Dog Walks, Cat Visits, & Overnights: Yes, we ask that all clients have two sets of keys ready to hand-off when we meet. When they are not in use, all keys are kept on file securely in the Dogzilla & Cat Cong home office and they are labeled with no identifying information except for our own private code. A second copy of keys is required to ensure that no pet is ever left without care in the event of a lockout or an emergency.

How do you schedule your services?

Dog Walks, Cat Visits, & Overnights: Due to a number of variables such as weather and the location of our clients, we must provide services with some degree of flexibility. All visits are conducted within +/-1 hour of their scheduled time.

Homestyle Boarding: Our boarding service is scheduled in 24 hour blocks. Please view our HOMESTYLE BOARDING page for more details.

What is your cancellation policy?

Dog Walks & Cat Visits: Services canceled a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the scheduled date/time will be assigned credit equal to the amount paid. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to the full charge.

Overnights & Homestyle Boarding: Overnight care cancelled a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the scheduled date/time will be assigned credit equal to the amount paid. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to one night’s charge plus associated fees.

Refunds cannot be issued for any services. Holiday services cannot be refunded or credited.

How will you keep my pet safe?

Safety is our number one priority. We are certified in Pet First Aid and CPR through PetTech and we are a fully insured and bonded member of Pet Sitters Associates, LLC.

Additional measures are taken with dogs to make sure that your pup is kept safe. We keep a close eye on environmental conditions and always make sure your dog is comfortable anytime there is extreme heat, cold, or otherwise. We are also careful to secure and double check any safety gear you have for your pup, such as their leash and harness, every time we go out.

What do you do in the event of severe weather?

In the event of severe storms or extreme temperatures, we will only bring your dog outside for as long as it is safe. Any walk or play time that your dog misses outside will be fulfilled with play time and attention indoors. To ensure our safety under such conditions, we reserve the right to cancel any services scheduled during an extreme weather event. We will always give as much notice as possible and full credit will be given for any services cancelled by Dogzilla & Cat Cong.
